Council accepts annexation sufficiency report and approves no-parking map amendment on Holmes Street

The council accepted a report of sufficiency regarding a voluntary annexation application for property identified as Faircloth and scheduled a contiguous annexation public hearing for the Aug. 4 meeting.
City Manager (S2) confirmed staff received the sufficiency report and council moved to accept it; the council then set the public hearing for the August meeting. The manager said the annexation relates to property on Pier Street.
Separately, staff presented a resolution to amend the city map to add a no-parking zone on Holmes Street (in District 5, near the water tower) where several new homes are under construction. Council discussed the location and rationale and approved the map amendment by motion.
Both measures passed by voice vote; staff will proceed with required public-notice procedures for the annexation hearing and update signage and map records for the no-parking change.
