Board approves principal, tutor, transfers and dozens of supplemental and substitute appointments

Fairfield Union Local’s board approved several personnel items during the meeting, including administrative contracts, a teacher transfer with supplemental days, and multiple supplemental and substitute appointments.

The board approved a one‑year administrative contract for Aaron Lorridge as middle school principal (grades 5–8) on the administrative salary schedule Group 3, Step 3, effective for the 2026–27 school year. Miss Lourdes, who could not attend, had asked the board to note her apologies and support for the hire; the motion to approve was made, seconded and approved by roll call.

The board then approved a one‑year tutor contract for Danielle Donaldson at Bremen Elementary (tutor salary schedule, step 7, beginning 2026–27). Donaldson attended the meeting and was introduced; board members praised her interview responses and readiness to work across grade levels.

The board approved the transfer of Rachel Thomas from 8th‑grade science to high‑school agricultural education and separately approved a 40‑day supplemental extension typical for ag instructors.

The board also approved 51 personal service supplemental contracts for coaching and extracurricular responsibilities and accepted substitute teacher and substitute classified lists provided monthly by the Fairfield County ESC. Superintendent Palafield clarified that the ESC provides the sub list and that names remain until the ESC removes them or their licenses expire.

All personnel items on the consent agenda were approved by roll‑call votes with members present voting yes. Several board members expressed thanks to incoming staff and the district hiring team.

No grievances, contested appointments or protracted debate were recorded on these items.
