At its meeting the Tower City Council approved a series of routine but consequential business items: payment of Pay Application 17 for the Lakehead contract, acceptance of a $7,500 donation from Bois Forte to the Tower Fire Department, and an agreement with MacDonald and Mack for architectural services on the Depot.
Pay Application 17, submitted by SEH on behalf of Lakehead, was approved and reduces the contractor's retainage to 1 percent with minimal remaining contract balance. Councilor Joe Morin moved to pay Pay App 17 and the motion passed unanimously.
Bois Forte presented $7,500 to the Tower Fire Department; Councilor John Van DeVoort moved to accept the funds and authorize a resolution, and the council approved the motion unanimously.
The council also approved an agreement with MacDonald and Mack for Depot architectural services; the minutes state the firm's fees will be paid from an IRRR grant. Other actions during the meeting included executing a lease with D'Ericks, advertising to fill seats on the Airport and Planning and Zoning commissions, proceeding with Civic Center and public works heating replacements, and authorizing Nancy Larson to provide up to 100 hours of grant-writing services under a renewed agreement.
Several motions carried without recorded opposition. The council adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
