Richmond council hears parks update; pool work and shelter repainting underway

At the May 13 Richmond City Council meeting, Councilor Deanna Guy, the city’s Park Board liaison, reported on the Park Board’s May 5 meeting and summarized updates from Parks and Recreation Director Haley Williams.
Guy said the park department is actively working to implement the Parks Master Plan and preparing the municipal pool for the upcoming opening season, with Parks and Recreation and Public Works collaborating on the work. She also reported that a park shelter has been repainted and looks improved.
"We received an update from Parks and Recreation Director Haley Williams, as they are very busy getting the parks updated and programs going. They are working on ways to start implementing the Parks Master Plan," Guy said. "Work on the pool for the opening season is also underway thanks to Parks and Recreation and Public Works. We have been told the shelter looks really good with its new paint."
