Commission Hears Request to Renew KeyTrak Service and Shift Dietitian Funds to Jail Food Account

County staff presented two procurement matters related to jail operations during the work session: an annual renewal for the jail's KeyTrak key-control maintenance agreement and a proposed food purchasing arrangement with a vendor that includes an administrative fee.
The jail system's KeyTrak maintenance renewal was presented at $3,900.80 annually, and staff said this is the final maintenance agreement remaining to transfer from the facility to county ownership.
Separately, the sheriff's office is proposing to contract with Summit Food Services to purchase food at cost with a 20% administrative fee to cover menus, dietitian oversight and ordering software. A county representative said the 20% would cover the dietitian and menu work and asked that funds previously set aside for an outside dietitian be transferred into the sheriff's food account to cover the fee.
Staff said the sheriff and vendor would finalize terms and the county attorney would review the contract prior to formal action at the commission meeting.
