Lake Como council approves 5K, payments and financial-advisory contract; executive session yields no public action

The Lake Como Mayor and Council on Aug. 19 approved a special-events application for the 23rd Annual NJFMBA Fallen Heroes 5K Memorial Run, adopted a resolution to pay borough bills and voted to award a contract for independent financial advisory services.
Councilmembers Douglas Witte, Hawley Scull and Peter Ventrice—all present—cast recorded yes votes on the roll calls for each of the formal resolutions; Councilmembers Christopher D’Antuono, Nicholas DeMauro and Heather Albala-Doyle were absent. The meeting opened at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake Como meeting room.
Dan Beirne, representing the New Jersey Fallen and Firefighters/Fire Marshals Benevolent Association (NJFMBA), asked the council for permission to hold the 5K; Councilman Witte moved approval and Councilman Ventrice seconded. The council approved the event application by roll call vote with no recorded no votes or abstentions.
Councilwoman Hawley Scull introduced Resolution 2025-116 to authorize payment of borough bills; the resolution passed by roll call vote. Councilman Witte offered Resolution 2025-118 to award a contract for independent financial advisory services; Councilman Ventrice seconded and the resolution passed by roll call (the minutes do not specify the contractor name or contract amount).
The council also adopted Resolution 2025-117 to enter executive session later in the meeting. The minutes record the body went into closed session at 7:46 p.m. and reconvened at 8:18 p.m. with "nothing to report publicly."
