Lake Como council approves routine payments and NJNG bill; one abstention

The Borough of Lake Como Mayor and Council voted Sept. 2 to approve routine municipal payments, including a bill to New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) that passed with a single abstention.
Councilwoman Heather Albala-Doyle introduced Resolution 2025-121 for payment of bills; Councilman Peter Ventrice seconded, and the measure passed on a roll-call vote of Councilmembers Witte, D'Antuono, DeMauro, Ventrice and Albala-Doyle voting yes. Albala-Doyle then offered Resolution 2025-122 to authorize payment of an NJNG invoice; Councilman Nicholas DeMauro seconded. The roll-call for 2025-122 recorded yes votes from Councilmembers Witte, DeMauro, Ventrice and Albala-Doyle and an abstention from Councilman Christopher D'Antuono. The recorded absentee was Councilwoman Hawley Scull.
Earlier in the meeting Councilman Nicholas DeMauro moved to approve the Aug. 19, 2025 minutes; Councilwoman Albala-Doyle seconded. Councilman D'Antuono recorded an abstention on the minutes, and the motion carried.
Resolutions 2025-123 (Adopting Emergency Operation Plan) and 2025-124 (Adopting Hazard Mitigation Plan) were tabled to the council's next regular meeting on Sept. 16, 2025.
The council entered executive session at 7:42 p.m. and reconvened at 8:13 p.m.; the meeting record states there was "nothing to report publicly." The meeting adjourned following routine closing business.
