The Larchmont Board of Education opened its reorganizational meeting by swearing in two trustees and the superintendent and then elected its leadership.
Ruth Hamburg and Alex Rayner each took the oath of office as trustees, and Michael Burke recited the oath as superintendent. The board then took nominations for president of the board; Erica Wagner was nominated and approved by voice vote. Wagner recited the oath of office after the vote.
The reorganizational session also addressed the vice president position. Nikki Barker nominated herself, a paper ballot was used to resolve multiple nominations, and Barker subsequently recited the oath of office as vice president.
Those sworn affirmed the standard oath: support for the U.S. Constitution and the New York State Constitution and to discharge the duties of their offices to the best of their abilities.
The board completed a post-organization roll call to confirm attendance for the new term. No contested policy decisions or program changes were made during the reorganizational items; the session focused on formalizing leadership and routine administration.
The board proceeded after the leadership votes to reappoint district financial officers and move through the consent agenda (see separate coverage).
