The Clemson Planning Commission voted to send a positive recommendation to City Council on a proposed map amendment to rezone 209 Hamilton Drive from residential to light industrial.
Staff explained the property is bordered by other industrial uses and the requested change would allow a security‑service operator to locate on the site. Staff said the parcel already sits within an architectural overlay district and that the proposed zoning is consistent with the comprehensive plan. Commissioners asked whether the adjacent parcel at 202 Hamilton Drive could be included; the commission amended the motion to permit inclusion of 202 if the property owner wished to add it and then approved the recommendation by roll call.
The commission’s action directs staff to forward the application, packet and the commission’s recommendation to City Council for the final map amendment decision.
