Smithville aldermen unanimously approve budget amendment, award trail contract and clear Lakeside Farms preliminary plat

Bill No. 3091-25, an emergency FY2026 budget amendment sponsored by Mayor Boley, passed both first and second readings and was adopted on roll-call votes of 6-0. Alderman Marv Atkins moved the first- and second-reading motions, and Alderman Dan Hartman seconded them. The transcript records inconsistent amendment amounts: the first-reading text records $261,944 while the second-reading text records $26,944. The board approved the ordinance despite that discrepancy; the City Clerk’s office should be consulted to confirm the correct dollar figure.
Also approved was Resolution 1534, awarding Bid No. 25-05 and authorizing the Mayor to execute a construction agreement with Epic Concrete Construction, Inc. for the OK Railroad Trail Project. Alderman Atkins moved the resolution and Alderman Hartman seconded; the board voted 6-0 to adopt the measure.
The board also adopted Resolution 1535, approving the preliminary plat for the Lakeside Farms subdivision and authorizing the Mayor to execute a development agreement. That measure passed on a 6-0 vote after a motion by Alderman Atkins and a second by Alderman Hartman. Alderman Melissa Wilson, reporting earlier from the Planning and Zoning Commission, noted that Lakeside Farms had been discussed and was placed on the agenda following commission action.
All three measures carried on unanimous 6-0 tallies as recorded in the meeting minutes. No public comment was offered on these agenda items during the meeting.
