City Administrator: survey mailed to 2,250 households; eight vacancies and three new positions reported

City Administrator Cynthia Wagner updated the Board of Aldermen on personnel and resident outreach at the Nov. 18 meeting. Wagner said the city has eight current vacancies and has added three new positions; recruitment is underway for the vacancies.
Wagner also provided a status update on a citizen satisfaction survey that ETC Institute mailed to 2,250 addresses identified as being within city limits. She said respondents must provide an address at the end of the survey so ETC can verify responses and geotag results; 69 responses have been received to date and ETC's target is 300 responses to reach statistical significance. Wagner noted postal timing can affect when households receive the survey.
Wagner added that she and Chuck Soules met that afternoon with Damon Hodges, the Clay County Administrator, to discuss shared road agreements and the waterline serving Clay County Parks and Recreation at Smithville Lake; she described the conversation as productive.
City Hall will be closed next Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving, Wagner said.
