Lake Como council approves event permits, adopts stormwater plan and authorizes NJDOT grant application

The Borough of Lake Como Mayor and Council on July 15 approved a package of event permits and municipal resolutions and authorized a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant application for road work on Euclid Avenue, Walling Avenue and Burton Place.

The council adopted its Stormwater Management Plan by unanimous roll call of members present and approved routine municipal actions including payment of bills and the appointment of a public defender. Council members voted to authorize submission of an NJDOT grant application to pursue improvements on Euclid, Walling and Burton Place; the resolution was offered by Councilman Christopher D’Antuono and seconded by Councilwoman Heather Albala-Doyle.

The minutes record approval of several community events. Amanda Hernek’s Greenwood Terrace block party application for Sept. 13 was approved after police and borough administration raised no objections; the motion was made by Councilman Douglas Witte and seconded by Councilman Nicholas DeMauro. The Shillelagh 5K special-event permit was also approved by motion of Councilman Witte, seconded by Councilman DeMauro.
