Meredith (a town staff member) presented the personnel recommendation, noting that Whitney has served in the department since March 2020, has a criminal-justice degree from SUNY Brockport, is a veteran of the Army, serves as a licensed drone pilot for the department and works as a wellness and peer-support officer. Meredith said the board was very pleased to put the promotion and salary authorization forward.
The board approved the promotion by voice vote; the chair noted that Whitney will be the department’s first female sergeant.
