Larchmont trustees approve consultant contracts, budget changes, donations and new field fees

The Village of Larchmont Board of Trustees approved several resolutions and routine financial items at its June 16 meeting, including consultant agreements, budget transfers, donations and a revision to field rental fees.
Acting Administrator Katzen presented a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Russell Birdwell to provide recreation consulting services. A second consultant contract with John Saccaran was approved for related recreation work; both motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board approved a $19,500 amendment to the fiscal 2025-26 budget to pay for executive recruitment services. "And the amount is for $19,500," the presenting official stated while introducing the budget amendment. Trustees also approved a $34,999 transfer from the assigned fund balance for a roof consultant needed as part of the Village Hall HVAC replacement project.
Trustees authorized creation of a Flint Park Paddle Hut Trust to accept donations and approved the acceptance of a $30,000 donation earmarked for purchase and installation of a camera and license-plate-reader (LPR) system at the intersection of Bay and Ocean Avenues for the Larchmont Police Department. The resolution authorizing donations and the LPR equipment was approved by voice vote.
The board adopted new hourly fees for Alma Field following post-construction research: $150 per hour for residents/local leagues and $200 per hour for non-residents. The resolution was moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
Other procedural items included the appointment of Todd Gaspard to the planning board, authorization for the village treasurer to open a brokerage account to accept donations of stock, approval of several prior-session resolutions (including agreements with Pracademic Partners and AKRF for grant-related work and 929 Construction Services for solar project construction oversight), and final approval of bills totaling $560,765.24 with off-list payments of $171,696.42. The meeting concluded following a motion to adjourn.
