Silver Creek Township board approves minutes, bills, training and personnel actions; tire complaint added to March 17 agenda

At its March 3 meeting, the Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors conducted routine business including approval of prior minutes, payment of bills and personnel matters.

The board approved the Feb. 17 meeting minutes (motion by Supervisor Forsman, seconded by Supervisor Nelson) and authorized payment of bills totaling $10,393.75 and payroll of $7,164.58 (motion by Supervisor Nelson, seconded by Vice Chair Geyen); both motions carried 4-0. The audit claims listed individual checks including Check #19197 for $1,541.89 to Chris Klein and other disbursements to the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Northstar Technologies and CW Enterprises.

The clerk treasurer presented a written report and the board carried two administrative motions: to publish the open book meeting notice in the township legal paper and to pay for 16 hours of CTAS training plus mileage; both motions passed 4-0.

On personnel, the board approved a job offer to Candidate 4 at $35 per hour with a six-month probationary period (motion carried 4-0). The board also agreed to offer Candidate 3 the same terms if Candidate 4 declines and noted the township may hire a second maintenance worker within 6–12 months because of an expected retirement in April 2027.

In open forum, Brian Jones asked the board to follow up on a pile of tires at 4377 - 114th Street NW that he had raised the prior year; the board added the item to the March 17 agenda for follow-up. The board previewed the sheriff's 2025 report, which will be shared at the annual meeting on March 10.
