Alderperson Bette Welch moved for first reading of BILL NO. 4037 and Alderman Presley Barker seconded; the motion passed with a unanimous vote. The ordinance was presented as a first-reading item and no final adoption vote was taken at the meeting.
The minutes state the agreement would govern professional services connected to a new medical director for the fire department; no contract value or effective dates were recorded in the meeting minutes. Fire Chief Chris Amenn separately reported that the department has received AED equipment funded by a prior grant, but the minutes do not link that equipment to the Washington University agreement.
The ordinance will return for a second reading and final action at a subsequent meeting.
