Council President Dave Williams called the March 3, 2025 meeting of the Town of Thorntown Council to order and the body voted to fill a council vacancy. After receiving a resignation letter from Shawn McClintock, Williams moved to appoint Gary Coffman to "fulfill the remainder of the term until December 31, 2028." Sara Fairfield seconded and the motion passed 4-0. The Clerk/Treasurer, Koren Gray, administered the oath and the Council welcomed Coffman.
The appointment came without public comment. Council members used the regular meeting to confirm the successor and restore a full complement of members ahead of upcoming agenda items. No additional conditions or competing nominees were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The council handled the appointment as a standard, formal action; the meeting record shows the vote tally as 4-0. The council adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
