One commissioner noted prior cases where the commission required masonry and stone accents; another member said samples — required by code for architectural review — were missing from the application. Shaw said the applicant can provide alternate, more natural palettes and that the team will submit additional material samples and revised renderings.
Faced with continuing concerns, the commission moved and voted to defer the item for 30 days so staff and petitioner can supply material samples and revised elevations. The petitioner indicated a one‑month deferral is acceptable and will return with updated materials at the next hearing.
