Rocheport announces twice-yearly large waste pickup; film crew donates $1,000

Under old business, resident Barbara Cataldo said the movie production filmed in Rocheport "was very quiet and nice" and removed its equipment when finished. The mayor stated the film crew will make a $1,000.00 donation to the city. The minutes list the donation amount but do not indicate whether the funds had been received as of the meeting.
Alderwoman Lois Connor reported that the Ham & Bean/Chili dinner drew a large crowd and described the event as successful. She said the Friends of Rocheport received donations and gifts valued at over $1,900 from local merchants and others, and announced an executive board meeting Nov. 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall and a general meeting Dec. 8 at Community Hall.
The mayor also noted a leak near the 240 bridge by the red watershed; the water district is addressing the leak and the minutes report it should not affect Rocheport residents.
