Richland R-1 board approves stipends, adopts athletic salary schedule

The Richland R-1 Board of Education on Aug. 21 approved several personnel pay changes and adopted a new athletic salary schedule, voting unanimously on motions brought during the meeting.
Board President Chris Porter presided over the meeting. Board member Jeremy Conner moved to approve the consent agenda — covering minutes, the meeting agenda, bills and the superintendent’s expense reimbursement — with an addition placing the athletic salary schedule in the stipend section; board member Kevin Evans seconded. The board recorded seven "yeas" and zero "nays," carrying the motion.
Under a separate action labeled "Addition of Stipends," the board voted to create a Student Information System administrator stipend of $3,500 for the 2024–2025 school year. Board member Hollie Wheeler moved the stipend; Clinton Corlew seconded. The motion carried by the same unanimous tally.
The board also approved an hourly pay increase for the elementary school secretary to serve in the role of Food Service Administrator. Wheeler moved the change and Dennis McGarity seconded; the board approved it 7–0.
Later, the board adopted the Athletic Salary Schedule as presented, with the 2024–2025 school year to count as year one for all current coaches. Jeremy Conner moved the adoption; Kevin Evans seconded. The motion passed 7–0.
