Board approves personnel list, policy updates and a student-ward change

During the workshop the board conducted a series of routine votes and approvals by voice vote.
The board approved the previous meeting minutes and adopted the agenda after motions and voice votes. The administration’s recommended personnel list was approved. The board also approved expanding the district’s "students in the ward" to include Georgetown Middle School.
On second-and-final reading the board approved several policies as presented: GBEC (drug-free workplace), ED (Student Transportation Management/Bus Safety Program), DKC (expense reimbursements), GDMD (district-funded training) and GCB (professional personnel compensation guides and contracts). Each was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board approved an out-of-district transfer request as presented. Motions were moved and seconded throughout and the chair declared each motion carried by voice vote. Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel and receive legal advice.
