The district’s Facilities Safety Committee reported it received seven responses to the RFP for middle‑school stadium turf replacement and recommended awarding the job to SprintTurf. Committee members said they visited multiple installed fields to compare materials and performance and that, after normalizing specifications across vendors, the committee recommended the lowest responsive bid.
The quoted contract amount is $546,395, with a contingency of less than 3 percent to cover any unforeseen items such as replacement of edge nailers discovered during removal. Committee representatives said installation would take about three weeks and must be completed before fall sports begin on Aug. 21.
Committee members noted the recommended turf has a projected life of 10 to 15 years; the board discussed the specification equivalency work used to compare bids and asked clarifying questions about striping, paint and the nailer contingency. The administration reported the project would be drawn from capital reserves and the bid recommendation will appear on the next public agenda for board action.
