The St. Clair County Commission approved a broad consent agenda covering contracts, budget amendments, subscriptions, reimbursements and board appointments during its regular meeting.
Key approvals included a University of Alabama medical-student housing contract for $18,900 (budget amendment), ratification of the chairman's signature on grant-application letters (including an EPA consolidation assessment grant and a US 411 grant), and an invoice approval of $20,000 to Jason Goodgame Company for plans and specifications for two sheriff's department buildings.
The commission also moved to resend a previously approved inmate medical bid and approved a new RFP for inmate medical services that will include opioid-related language. A CPC contract was approved pending the county attorney’s review to address compliance with a recent FCC ruling.
Other items approved: a $2,500 appropriation for Central County Academy advertising, a transfer of a 2013 Ford Explorer to the commission office, renewal of Canvas subscriptions at $120 per year for departments that requested renewals, a professional-services contract for Terra Engineering LLC ($14,500) pending attorney review, and appointment of Teresa Sanders to HR and Flint Joy Reitner to the St. Clair County EDC Council.
Financial and informational items included a $33,759.19 purchase by Wolf Creek Volunteer Fire Department for radios and an associated county reimbursement of $1,687.96 (5% of the purchase). The commission approved payment of regular bills and adjourned after opening a brief public-comment period.
