Barnes Fund staff told the commission that Round 16 application materials and the application platform are nearly ready and that staff expect to release the round this week, pending final procurement and payment-platform setup.
Staff said the Round 16 application will be hosted in ZoomGrants, will remain open for at least 45 days, and will include a question period running roughly the month after opening through May 29. The team will host informational Teams webinars for each project type, paired with ZoomGrants technical-assistance sessions; ZoomGrants staff will be available for technical questions throughout the application period. Staff emphasized that potential applicants and their representatives must not communicate with Barnes Fund staff, commissioners or evaluation-committee members on matters related to the funding round during the open application and evaluation period.
Staff also said they are conducting an ADA web-accessibility review of application documents and will record the Teams sessions and make them available for those who cannot attend. Counsel advised that the Open Meetings Act considerations still apply and recommended publicly noticing sessions in the usual ways; staff agreed to do so.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for May 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the same room and adjourned.
