Cromwell honors paraprofessionals; student donates $209.20 from recycling project

The Cromwell Board of Education opened its March 10 meeting by recognizing paraprofessionals from Cromwell Middle School for their day‑to‑day support of students and teachers.
CMS paraprofessional Samantha Welch told the board she and colleagues ‘‘come in every day for the kids’’ and said her six years in the role have been rewarding. Missus Cocchiola led the recognition and multiple board members offered thanks and personal examples of how paraprofessionals support classroom functioning and safety.
Separately, student Ryan Johnson — introduced by an assistant principal — described a school recycling drive he organized and reported he raised and donated $209.20 to the PTO. The board thanked Ryan and his family for the community service and the donation.
The recognitions did not require board action; they were presented as part of routine school reports and community acknowledgments.
