The Rochelle Park Board of Education on March 16 approved routine curriculum and finance items including a 6th-grade field trip, vendor designation, facility-use requests and payment of bills.
The board approved C1: a 6th-grade field trip to Sterling Hill Mine scheduled for April 28, 2026, with chaperones Hornes, Calabro, Friedman, Gallagher and Sheridan; costs were noted as TBD and will be paid from Student Activities funds. The board also approved Smart Tech Insurance as an approved vendor for the 2025-2026 school year.
Under routine finance business the board approved payment of bills and mandatory payments through March 12, 2026 totaling $65,963.97, with a fund-level breakdown showing $65,086.90 charged to General (10, 11), $187.53 to Grants (20), $465.00 to Foodservice (60) and $224.54 to Aftercare (61).
The board approved requests for use of district facilities including Maywood Soccer Club practices at Midland School fields, a Midland PTO assembly (Zuzu Acrobats), Rochelle Park Township's Memorial Day ceremony on May 25, 2026, and a Student Council educational assembly on May 15, 2026. The board reiterated that school programs take priority under District Policy 7510 and reserved the right to cancel outside activities when necessary.
No members of the public spoke at the meeting. The public portion ended at 6:36 p.m.; the board moved into executive session and adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
