Marty Posthumus, representing the Monticello Trailblazers, asked the board for a township signature or a letter authorizing use of the right-of-way. Board members discussed whether the state trail system’s insurance would cover use and other liability questions before approving the permit. Supervisor Andy Christensen moved to sign the permit; Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
The board approved the permit as provided by the association; the minutes do not record any additional conditions attached to the signature. The action allows the association to proceed with trail use consistent with the permit and with any state trail-system requirements.
