Shrewsbury Fire Department reports ISO Class 2 rating; new bariatric unit and AEDs deployed

Fire Chief Chris Amenn told the Board of Aldermen on April 8 that the Shrewsbury Fire Department's bariatric unit is up and running and that HVAC engineers are preparing to bid Phase 2 work for the Public Safety Building. He said the department recently received an ISO Public Protection Classification Rating of 2 — placing it in the top 7% nationwide and the top 5% in Missouri.
Amenn also reported that all new automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment obtained through a recent grant has been handed out to the Police Department. He said the fire and police departments plan to coordinate training for local business owners on AED use.
No formal action was required; department updates were provided during the regular meeting. The board approved routine minutes, moved into a closed session later in the meeting and adjourned. The next Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2025.
