AdventHealth Minneola reports 5,000+ patients; Groveland honors Youth Council leadership

Kay Barnett, CEO of AdventHealth Minneola, briefed the City Council on the hospital’s first six months of operation, reporting that more than 5,000 patients had received care since opening. Barnett described an upcoming medical office building that will expand specialty services, noted the addition of new providers to improve access to care, and said AdventHealth plans to continue expanding services across South Lake County with future opportunities that could include Groveland.
The Council also recognized the Groveland Youth Council for its 2025–2026 term. Ashley Wright introduced Beautiful McCoy, who outlined the Youth Entrepreneurship Expo scheduled for June 13, 2026 at Nathaniel Community Gymnasium. McCoy said the event will let teen entrepreneurs showcase business ideas, connect with mentors and build leadership skills; councilors commended the Youth Council’s work.
No formal action was required on either item; both were presented as informational updates and recognitions.
