Board approves E-rate network purchase, grounds equipment and electronic nurse records system

Superintendent Parker presented an E-rate equipment package for Carroll High School and internal network upgrades with a total purchase amount of $359,187.54; the purchases were the low responsive bids and are subject to E-rate discounts (staff noted approximately a 50% reimbursement after approval). The board approved the purchase by voice vote.
Parker also presented bids for Willow Creek outdoor equipment, including a Bobcat tractor with bucket ($56,418.62), Bobcat skid loader ($57,526.60), a 15‑foot rotary mower ($23,133.02), a 72‑inch Kubota mower ($42,612.35) and a Kubota UTV ($38,650). The board approved the recommended purchases to outfit grounds maintenance for the new school.
Dr. Bidding presented two agreements to adopt SchoolCare, an electronic nurse-records system that can integrate with PowerSchool and offers an optional Medicaid‑billing capability. Trustees asked whether student data would remain within the district’s systems and were told the tool works with existing district platforms and is intended to be FERPA/HIPAA‑protected; the board approved both agreements.
Operations staff also reported construction progress: ground movement at the transportation center with a planned groundbreaking before the April meeting, continued work at Willow Creek with early‑May ribbon‑cutting goals, and a scheduled four‑day power shutdown at Huntertown (May 29–31) to complete an electrical upgrade. Staff said they are coordinating with local leagues and partners to minimize community impacts.
All procurement and agreement items were approved by voice vote as presented.
