Woodland board reviews draft cannabis ordinance, recommends school buffer and zone limits

The Woodland Township Land Development Board discussed a draft cannabis ordinance in its Nov. 12, 2024 meeting and relayed recommendations to the Committee for further consideration.
Sara Werner told the board the agenda item was limited to determining whether the draft ordinance met conditions of the township Master Plan. Board members recommended restricting licenses to a single permit per license type, banning licenses within five miles of any school, and confining cannabis business operations to the HB zoning district. The board instructed Ms. Werner to send a letter to the Committee stating those recommendations.
No public comments were made during the open-comment period. The board’s recommendations were recorded in the meeting minutes for Committee consideration; the minutes do not record a formal roll-call vote on the ordinance language itself.
