Northfield board approves Dollar General liquor license, large warrants and payroll

The Northfield Town Select Board on March 10 approved a liquor license renewal for Dollar General, accepted prior minutes and authorized warrants and payroll during its consent and financial items.
Board members said the Dollar General application appeared in order and voted in favor of the liquor license renewal by voice vote. The board then approved the minutes from its Feb. 24 meeting after confirming there were no requested edits.
The board reviewed warrant numbers 1726 and 1726A2F and approved payment totaling $1,997,862.40. During the warrant review members asked for clarification on specific line items, including a water-pump/alternator entry and a large sewer-generator item; staff and members identified the generator as serving the police station, municipal building and town garage. The board then approved the biweekly payroll through March 1, 2026, in the amount of $99,343.46.
All financial votes were taken by voice and recorded as in favor. Board members said they would follow up on line-item questions with staff as needed.
The board moved into the remainder of the agenda after completing the financial and consent items.
