The Prescott City Council on March 10 approved a general-plan amendment (GP 26-001) and a rezoning (REZ 26-001) to allow Prescott 7th Day Adventist School to expand school facilities and offer grades 9–12 on a combined 3.6-acre parcel on the northwest corner of Willow Creek Road and Nicollet Trail.
Jacob Lund, community development planner, explained the request included a revision of plat that combined two parcels and that the site is next to business-general zoning on one side and single-family zoning on others. He said staff reviewed the application and found it met code requirements and that the planning and zoning commission had unanimously recommended approval.
Pastor Tony, representing the applicant, said the school started nearly a century ago and had grown from 13 students to more than 80; he said the congregation raised nearly $600,000 toward renovations and replatting to meet the expansion. Council asked about buffers, traffic and conditional-use history; staff described existing fencing, a flood-zone buffer and posted notices to nearby property owners. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing. The council voted 7–0 to approve the resolution and ordinance.
