The Woodland Park Board of Education accepted the resignation of Ashley Flores, a teacher at Charles Olbon School, effective Jan. 12, 2024 (or sooner if a replacement is found), and approved a slate of personnel actions at its Nov. 20 meeting.
The Board approved the appointment of Joeleane Alfaqeer-Wells as a teacher at BG School (salary BA, Step 1, $59,385 prorated for 2023–24), contingent upon receipt of required paperwork. The Board also approved the hiring of a lunch aide (Sharon Domicoli, $18.68/hr., up to 10 hours per week), approval of 100 practicum hours for a counseling candidate (Tara Byrnes), and a schedule of staff stipends for extracurricular programming (for example, BG Influencers stipends listed at $340 each). Mustang Academy advisor assignments and supervisor substitutes for Mustang, Bears Den and Chipmunk Academies were approved at the rates listed in the agenda ($46/hr. for advisors; $60/hr. for supervisor substitutes).
Separately, after returning from executive session the Board ratified paid administrative leave for employee ID #4414 effective Nov. 20, 2023 until further notice (motion by Laura Vargas; seconded by Jairo Rodriguez). That ratification passed on roll-call vote (8 yes). One reappointment motion (224-27A) was pulled from the agenda pending further action.
Board members framed these approvals as routine personnel management and program staffing to ensure coverage for after-school academies and curricular needs.
