Ryan said the program averages about 62 pounds per pickup over roughly 300 individual pickups and highlighted the environmental and fire‑safety benefits of removing chemicals and batteries from curbside waste.
Councilmembers asked about turnaround times and customer experience; Ryan said the target is about a one‑week turnaround after the bag is delivered and staff agreed to follow up on a resident report that obtaining a bag felt cumbersome in one case. Waste Connections also noted monthly brush and bulk pickup is running at roughly 100 tons per month.
Staff encouraged residents to use the service and provided the scheduling contact information displayed in the presentation.
