Consultants outline Safe Streets 4 All grant work: safety audit, crash data, truck routing and signage

Consultants for the Safe Streets 4 All grant briefed the Archie Board of Aldermen Feb. 10 on planned tasks to improve street safety.
Jay Aber of HDR Engineering said HDR will team with Lee Baer of Merg Midwest to gather crash data from the Missouri Department of Transportation, conduct a safety audit, assist with truck routing, and recommend signage and policy updates. The work is intended to inform a city Safety Action Plan and to help update enforcement and routing to improve safety for all road users.
No funding amounts were discussed in the session; aldermen received the update and staff will coordinate with MoDOT and engineering partners as the planning work proceeds.
