Archie adopts peddler license amendment and new street-excavation permit ordinance
Summary

Bill No. 375 amends Ordinance No. 326 (City Business Licenses) to add language regarding peddler's licenses. Alderman Lough moved for approval; the motion passed with Aldermen Houchen, Kendrick, Lough and Saltee voting yes. Bill No. 375 becomes Ordinance No. 375.
Bill No. 376 amends Ordinance No. 222 to prohibit street cuts and excavations in the right-of-way without a permit, requires a bond or escrow for such work and establishes penalties for violations. Alderman Saltee explained the measure, saying it "will cover the City for any excavation in streets or rights-of-way." Alderman Saltee moved to accept Bill No. 376 and Alderman Houchen seconded; the motion passed with a unanimous recorded vote. Bill No. 376 becomes Ordinance No. 376.
The board did not record additional implementing details (fees, permit application process or bond amounts) in the meeting minutes; staff follow-up will be required to publish permit procedures and amounts to comply with the new ordinance.
