Arnold council approves software renewal and police computer purchase; votes to enter closed session on litigation

The Arnold City Council voted unanimously to approve two administrative resolutions and to hold a closed session to discuss litigation.
Council approved Resolution 25-86 to renew the city’s Tyler Technologies/myGov subscription used by community development. The staff presenter (speaker 12) said he budgeted $36,000 for the renewal, the invoice arrived at $32,472, and by removing $5,412 in optional work orders the payable total becomes $27,060 — about $9,000 under the budgeted amount.
The council also approved Resolution 25-87 allowing the chief of police to spend Blue Shield grant funds to purchase 15 Panasonic Toughbook computers from Turnkey Mobile. Chief Carroll (speaker 13) said the invoice is $49,995 and the grant award was $50,000, leaving $5 unspent; the chief said the department had already received the funds. Council members asked about disposal of old MDT units; the chief said hard drives are removed and destroyed and the devices are recycled or donated when appropriate.
After those approvals the mayor asked for a motion to hold a closed session to discuss litigation under RSMo. 610.021(1). A motion was made and seconded and passed on roll call (7 yes). No litigation details were discussed in open session.
