The Arnold City Council approved several infrastructure and permitting items during the meeting.
Council adopted Resolution 25-77 authorizing the mayor to accept a proposal from Mills Construction to replace roofs and siding at the golf course clubhouse and cart barn damaged in the March tornado; staff said insurance has approved the contractor and will reimburse the city after work is completed.
The council also approved a resolution to modernize the two elevators at City Hall. Staff said both elevators are original to the building, recent breakdowns forced an unexpected repair that cost $18,000, and the modernization—budgeted during recent budget planning—will focus on electronics and components to reduce future repair costs and improve ADA access.
A conditional use permit to replace a multi-tenant sign at 1331 Jeffco Boulevard that was destroyed in the tornado was discussed by planning staff and passed following an explanation that the planning commission had unanimously recommended approval with conditions to address storm-related repairs.
The council approved a liquor license for a new rebranded Mexican restaurant called Pink Margaritas at the Jeffco and Timbrook intersection after the licensing panel reviewed the application. All of the above items were approved by recorded votes of seven ayes.
Finally, the council voted to move into a closed session to discuss litigation and real estate under RSMo. 610.021(1) and (2).
