Arnold council approves ordinance appointing Anthony Traxler as city administrator

The City of Arnold City Council voted unanimously to approve Ordinance Bill 2917, authorizing the mayor to appoint Anthony Traxler as city administrator and to adopt the employment contract the administration had executed.
Mayor introduced Traxler, describing a selection process that included two rounds of interviews and input from elected officials and staff, and said, "I was very happy and proud to nominate Anthony to the city council." Legal counsel explained the ordinance is a formal administrative approval that incorporates the contract Traxler had already signed.
Traxler, who the mayor said had been on the job about a week, thanked the council and residents and invited people to reach out with questions: "I'm very excited to work with each and every 1 of you and with the residents, stakeholders for the city of Arnold," he said.
Council members asked few substantive questions during the second reading; the roll-call vote recorded seven ayes and the ordinance passed. Councilmembers and staff characterized the vote as an administrative action to put the executed contract on the record.
The meeting proceeded to other business, and council later voted to move into a closed session on litigation and real estate pursuant to RSMo. 610.021(1) and (2).
