The Board of Aldermen authorized the city administrator to negotiate an agreement with Great River Engineering to prepare a 20-year transportation master plan after a staff RFQ review. Staff said Great River was the apparent winner in three of four review categories and has previously completed work for Ashland on a Perry Avenue extension project.
"That transportation master plan will provide road map for the next 20 years as to what improvements the city will be making within our transportation network," staff said. The FY25 budget contains $75,000 allocated for the project; the RFQ process produced two finalists, Bartlett & West and Great River Engineering.
A motion to approve Resolution 2024-60 to select Great River Engineering passed by voice vote following a second. Staff will return with contract terms for the board or city administrator to finalize.
