Applicant Austin Kusgen told the board his work is HVAC and that "all work, and equipment will be done inside the building." Building plans filed with the board show a 48‑by‑80‑foot structure with 16‑foot sidewalls. Alderman Mark Houchen noted Planning & Zoning had approved the rezoning contingent on the building fitting on the lot, but several neighbors raised concerns about what future businesses could occupy the site given its proximity to residences.
Alderman Tony Sallee moved to table the rezoning until the February Board of Aldermen meeting; Alderman Houchen seconded. The motion passed with Houchen-yes; Sallee-yes; Molzahn-yes; Kendrick-absent. The board said tabling would give concerned residents more time to gather details and for the city to evaluate the fit of the proposed building on the lot.
The item is scheduled for reconsideration at the February meeting; the board did not vote on any zoning change at this session.
