The Archie Board of Aldermen approved the Final Plat for Eagle Ridge Estates (Lots 1–25, 44–45, 60–11, 67, 84, 85–89, Tracts A and B) after a short discussion about sewer capacity and street lighting.
The board’s action came after resident Denise Cantrell asked whether existing sewer infrastructure could accommodate the subdivision. Taylor Flanery explained the plan includes stormwater detention so that rainwater will flow to the detention area rather than into the sanitary sewer. Alderman Mark Houchen said the current system will accommodate the new development. "The stormwater detention is designed to keep runoff out of the sewer," Flanery said.
Alderman Houchen moved to accept the final plat and Alderman Tony Sallee seconded. The motion passed with Houchen-yes, Sallee-yes, Molzahn-yes; Kendrick-absent. Board members noted street-lighting questions remain and said lighting will be addressed before construction begins.
The approval clears the plat for the developer to proceed with required preconstruction steps, subject to final utility hookups, any required permits, and the street-lighting plan. The board did not record any funding commitments for sewer upgrades, and the developer and city staff will handle remaining infrastructure coordination before work begins.
