Board approves transportation master-plan contract and authorizes contract amendment tied to GMP

City staff told the board the transportation contract is budgeted at no more than $175,000 for the current fiscal year and that the project is expected to be completed in summer 2025. "We anticipate this project will be completed in summer of 2025," the presenter said, noting the plan will lay out the future pedestrian and transportation network for the city. The staff presentation added that the GMP amendment concerns equipment items that must be finalized before Jan. 1 to avoid scheduled price increases.
At the start of the discussion on the Bartlett & West contract amendment, the chair asked whether there were any questions for "James or staff." One member raised a question during that exchange before the board moved to a roll-call vote. The roll-call recorded affirmative votes from those listed as Aldwin Lewis, Aldwin Wilson, Alderman Brown, Alderman Covert and Alderman Wingert on the action related to Order No. 1496. The board similarly recorded affirmative votes on Ordinance No. 1497 after brief remarks from staff.
Both items were presented as second-read matters from previous sessions; staff emphasized timing for the contract amendment to avoid supplier price increases and confirmed funding had been budgeted for the transportation plan in the current fiscal year. The transportation plan contract was described as a planning engagement, while the Bartlett & West action is a contract amendment tied to procurement of equipment under a GMP.
