Council Member Tuttle moved and Council Member Meadows seconded a motion to set May 19, 2026, for a public hearing to hear comments on amending the FY25/26 City Budget (#2); the motion passed unanimously.
Department updates included a report from Rich Gochenour on public works items — the pool is on track for opening around the 16th, flag pole and north-side pool work was discussed, and a 2014 disc mower is at Vetter’s for repair while the department seeks a replacement. Jeannie Wortman briefed the council on Chamber volunteer needs for watering Erie Street plants; Council Member Dawn Meadows reported the library celebrated National Library Week and said Theresa Dowling will join as Children’s Librarian at the end of May.
City Administrator Turri Colglazier said the city received 95 applications for open positions and that new cloud software rollout is creating a learning curve for office staff. Council Member Tuttle suggested revisiting cemetery software to ease administrative workload. The council also approved several mayoral requests including an alley extension, Conservation Commission work on a city-donated 1st Street property, and proceeding with Guinan Heating & Cooling estimates for the Rand Center; staff were asked to follow up on a DrifterFest camping request for June 5–7. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
