Eagle Township approves Niles Cemetery repairs, certificate updates and routine budget changes

Eagle Township trustees on April 17 approved a package of operational items including cemetery certificate updates, repairs at Niles Cemetery, modest budget amendments and an online payments addendum.
Trustee Rob Currie moved, supported by Supervisor Troy Stroud, to approve updates to the Niles Cemetery Eagle Township Right of Burial Certificate as presented; the motion carried. The board then approved a separate motion, moved by Currie and supported by Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes, authorizing maintenance worker Pat O’Neill to perform about 25 hours of repair work on cemetery columns and to purchase up to $500 in materials for the job.
The board also accepted several budget amendments. For fiscal year 2024–25, the township moved $200 from PC Miscellaneous (101 702 955.000) to PC Advertising (101 702 900.000). For fiscal year 2025–26, the board shifted $1,000 from Hall Salary (101 265 702.000) to a new Cemetery Salary account (101 567 702.000). Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved the budget amendments and Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes supported; the motion carried.
Separately, the board authorized the supervisor to sign the Integrated Payments Addendum with BS&A, allowing the township to accept credit card and ACH payments; associated fees will be passed through to the payor. The board did not specify which revenue accounts will use the new payment method or an implementation date.
The meeting also set May 15 as the due date for articles for the summer tax mailing newsletter. The board adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
