County commissioner reports Grange Road culvert due in June; township to press Looking Glass RFA on funds and fire chief attendance

Clinton County Commissioner Zach Rudat reported to the Eagle Township Board on May 15 that the Grange Road culvert north of Westphalia is expected to be completed in early June.
Rudat also said the county is checking on a possible reduction in state funds for the County Veterans Affairs Department and that the county approved a sponsorship for the Clinton County RESA annual Career Expo. He reported the sheriff's department will turn in three vehicles when receiving five new ones so that the county can expand the fleet.
Supervisor Troy Stroud told the board he will raise with the Looking Glass Regional Fire Authority (LGRFA) the question of returning unrestricted fund dollars to townships and said he will invite the Delta Township fire chief to a future Eagle Township Board meeting to discuss related issues. Stroud also reported that LGRFA is applying for 2025 grants for a new fire truck.
