Wiesel rebuild application held open after neighbor alleges repeated blockage of Lee Road

The Zoning Board of Appeals continued the application by Sam and Dena Wiesel for variances at 479 Sackett Lake Road after a neighbor submitted correspondence alleging repeated blockage of a local right-of-way.
Robyn Jacobs, a nearby resident, told the board she and others use Lee Road as a right-of-way to access properties and that gravel and other obstructions placed by the Wiesel household had once left her trapped on her property for two days and damaged the roadbed. Jacobs asked the board to consider access rights and neighbor behavior in reviewing the Wiesel rebuild application.
The applicants told the board they believe they have access rights to Lee Road and that, if they lack deeded access, they can instead use Sackett Lake Road for entry and remove the gravel drive accessing Lee Road. Attorney Steve Vegliante advised Jacobs that disputes over easements and blockage are generally not within the ZBA’s authority and recommended seeking legal counsel; nonetheless, the board re-opened the public hearing to accept Jacobs’ correspondence into the record and continued the hearing to July 14, 2026 to allow the applicants time to confirm deeded access or alter their plans.
The board also noted that if the applicants demonstrate they will not or cannot use Lee Road, they may be required to remove drive access improvements that cross the ROW.
No final decision was made at the June 9 meeting; the board asked the parties to provide title or chain-of-title documentation before the next hearing.
