Eagle Township approves small budget adjustments, summer tax newsletter and administrative measures
Summary

At its May 15 meeting the Eagle Township Board approved multiple fiscal and administrative items, including FY25-26 budget amendments, minor FY24-25 adjustments, a summer tax newsletter, and an $8-per-mowing stipend.
Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved to approve FY25-26 budget amendments increasing several revenue lines: Property Tax Millage (101-000-402.000) +$1,000; Administration Fee Collected (101-000-447.000) +$2,000; Zoning Meeting Notice Fee (101-000-607.000) +$1,000; Election Refunds (101-000-687.001) +$1,000. The board also approved the fund overviews as part of the FY25-26 budget. Those motions were supported and recorded as carried.
The board approved minor FY24-25 amendments (zoning administration +$700; zoning miscellaneous '$700; assessor supplies '$1; assessor wages +$1) and recorded the motions as carried. Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes moved to accept a four-page summer tax newsletter to be mailed with the 2025 Summer Tax Bills at a cost not to exceed $350, with final edits to be agreed to by the Treasurer and Clerk; that motion carried.
The minutes also record administrative items: appointment of Eric Sutherland to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Casey Godlewski as an alternate on the Board of Review; approval of updated board policy; and authorization for the Supervisor and Clerk to sign Consumers Energy Form 547 for changes to company-owned street lighting (listing high-pressure sodium rather than LED for two bills). The board approved renewal of the Clinton County Catalyst contract at the Elite level for $1,000.
Clerk and Treasurer reported they will work with BS&A to implement online payments in time for summer taxes; Treasurer Hoppes noted work to collect delinquent personal property taxes. The minutes do not quantify the expected revenue impact of the budget amendments or the projected cost/savings of online payment implementation.
