Eagle Township adopts multiple resolutions and approves contracts; salaries set for elector vote

Eagle Township’s board on Feb. 20 voted on and adopted multiple resolutions and motions that will shape the township’s operations and near-term spending.
Key votes and outcomes (all motions carried unless noted):
- Interim Zoning Ordinance amendment: Resolution 02-20-2025-01 adopting Ordinance 02-2025 on legal nonconforming lots (unanimous yes).
- Trustee salary resolution (Res. 02-20-2025-04): set trustee salary at $2,616 effective April 1, 2025; to be submitted to electors on March 29, 2025. Roll call: Clerk Briggs-Dudley, Treasurer C. Hoppes, Supervisor Stroud voted yes; Trustees M. Hoppes and Strahle abstained.
- Supervisor salary resolution (Res. 02-20-2025-05): set supervisor salary at $19,776 effective April 1, 2025; to be submitted to electors. Roll call shows Supervisor Stroud abstained; four yes votes recorded.
- Treasurer salary resolution (Res. 02-20-2025-03): set treasurer salary at $21,432 effective April 1, 2025; to be submitted to electors. Treasurer C. Hoppes abstained; four yes votes recorded.
- Clerk salary resolution (Res. 02-20-2025-02): set clerk salary at $27,252 effective April 1, 2025; to be submitted to electors. Clerk Briggs-Dudley abstained; four yes votes recorded.
- Sick Leave Policy (Res. 02-20-2025-07): adopted as presented (unanimous yes).
- ACH and Electronic Transactions / Bill Payment and Post Audit policy updates (Res. 02-20-2025-06): adopted to reflect BS&A implementation and clarified Clerk/Treasurer duties (unanimous yes).
- Hall maintenance: accepted estimates from Patrick O'Neill to repair basement water infiltration and exterior caulking; motion carried.
- Security cameras: approved Total Security bid to install four cameras and a recording device at a cost not to exceed $1,300 with a $500 initial equipment payment.
- Audit engagement: approved clerk to sign the 2025 Audit Engagement letter with Siegfried Crandall for a base cost of $6,400; an optional verbal audit report is available for an additional $500.
- Clinton County Road Commission contracts FY25-26: authorized signing of contracts as presented.
The board approved budget amendments reallocating modest amounts between line items in the General Fund and Emergency Services budgets. The meeting adjourned at 9:23 p.m.
